2/25/2023 0 Comments Dying light hellraid minotaur![]() If that's not magic to you, I don't know what is. Im still curious about it even though I dont think it would fit the game.ĭid you even play the beta? The whole premise of this DLC is that using a cursed arcade machine you're transported to hellish parallel world where are magical energy barriers on doors and skeletons throwing lightning at you. That said I WOULD be interested in how they would go about implementing previously mentioned fantasy content (magic, minotaurs, all that ♥♥♥♥) if they were to make the decision to do it. Ofcourse it cannot simulate 1-on-1 reality because zombies dont exist in reality so lets not go that rabbit hole, thats just nitpicking and nobody likes nitpickers. This game obviously tries to ""simulate"" a real apocalypse to some degree (very heavy emphasis on the last part of this sentence). You cant seriously expect using ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ magic in Dying Light. All of you here maybe expected something different, more akin to the cancelled game, but its still a dlc that plays in the Dying Light universe and thus needs to play by that game's rules, in which it seemingly succeeded. As I read the comments the dlc succeeded staying true to the original game, nothing amazingly new. Meaning all mechanics in that dlc should follow the base game's rules no matter what your (wrong) expectations are. Hmmmm.Īt first I went into the thread with the mindset of, even though the dlc is based on a cancelled game it is still dlc sold under the game Dying Light. My initial impression of his thread was negative but it seems like almost everyone agrees its not as good as it could be which makes me now doubt myself. Hmmm interesting, I myself am a fan of the game but I did not buy the DLC. ![]() Right now the sole thing this DLC is good for is teaching people to never preorder stuff, even if you hold the developer in high esteem. Where are outdoor areas, spell staves, shields, magical weapons, axe-wielding satyrs, raging minotaurs and other content made for the original Hellraid? I didn't expect a whole new game out of it, but holy broccoli, right now it's almost nothing.Ĭorrect me if I'm wrong here, but even if the whole DLC will be 3 times as large as it is right now, it's still pretty much a ripoff, given that I doubt much more varied content will be added, since it's scheduled to launch in just a month - and it's all definitely not something I'd consider worth buying. There are no new mechanics at all, and on top of that if you climb a window, both zombies and skeletons just stand helplessly below. This is just a small uninteresting level with barely 10-15 minutes of gameplay, all enemies are straight reskins of common DL enemies, same with the weapons. Today I played the available preview and so follows my question - is this a bad joke? And so I purchased it without hesitation as soon as it was announced. ![]() ![]() When I heard that it's coming as a DLC for Dying Light I thought it's a perfect solution - it would be a shame that all that work and assets were just thrown out, so perhaps while it wasn't good enough to be a standalone title, it could make a perfect sense to become available for DL players to enjoy. It was really disappointing when it was announced that the game was cancelled. I was following development of Hellraid the game for some time and was pretty excited for it.
